lmt apprenticeship application

OUT OF STATE APPLICANTS

Please note, having a Hawai’i State Massage Therapy License is the fastest and easiest way to apply for Apprenticeship. Without a Hawaii LMT license, one must either (1) sit for the state exam or (2) apply for apprenticeship which is a longer procedure in total. Apprenticeship permits through an LMT sponsor is more of an alternative to going to massage school with direct education from an LMT sponsor with an establishment license. A permit is required through the PVL (Professional and Vocational Licensing Division). Apprentice-Sponsor application process incurs fees and takes 45-60 days minimum; then a permit must be acquired; backlogging is common. Even if your current state licensure meets or exceed Hawai’i’s education requirements, you must still apprentice for no less than 6 monthst; whether you choose to sit for the Hawai’i State Exam or not. Therefore, at this time, I am not accepting applications from out-of-state LMTs UNLESS:
(1) Have a valid HI LMT license OR (2) In process of sitting for HI state exam.

Mahalo for your time and considerations,

Amy
